Training course 3: How to prepare your firm and your clients for new greenwashing rules.

Since April 2025, the Competition and Markets Authority has been able to impose fines up to £300,000 or 10% of a company’s global turnover (whichever is higher) for greenwashing.

Firms should think carefully about whether they have the appropriate evidence to support their claims, and there is lots of guidance to help them make this assessment.

Protecting a company, clients and consumers from greenwashing is the job of many people, not just consumer lawyers.

This course will enable you to analyse and check environmental claims, by going through the Green Claims Code, over ten case studies, and the UN Integrity Matters Report.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Understanding of the new greenwashing rules and their relevance to your organisation

2. Familiarity with wider regulation

3. Ability to analyse and apply all 13 Principles of the Green Claims Code

4. Awareness of key greenwashing litigation cases

5. Critical reflection on your role in ensuring credible sustainability communication

Training course 4: Climate Justice

This course is designed for lawyers who want to explore climate litigation as a risk to their clients and climate justice as a movement addressing inequalities impacting diverse communities.

The impacts of climate change are deeply unjust: those who have contributed the least to the problem often suffer the most.

However, across the globe, communities are fighting back, holding polluters accountable, and driving transformative change – and the legal profession is at the heart of this shift.

Learning outcomes:
1. Understanding of the climate impacts on diverse communities
2. Familiarity with key Climate Litigation cases and trends
3. Ability to explain the risk of Climate Litigation to clients
4. Awareness of the most inspirational lawyers and cases in the movement.
